Indianapolis Urogynecologist
A Team You Can Trust
Our practice is committed to providing a first-class experience for our patients. Pelvic floor disorders range from simple to extremely complex, and are often a sensitive issue for people dealing with them. In fact, many women wait years before seeking medical treatment for pelvic disorders due to embarrassment or stigma.
Our office is a safe and compassionate space to share information and options. We have a commitment to privacy and confidentiality.
Individualized Care for Pelvic Floor Disorders
Even in patients with the same diagnosis, there is not always a one-size-fits-all solution. That’s why at Midwest Center for Pelvic Health, your doctor will take a patient-centered, partnership approach to pelvic health. We design treatment plans around our patients’ goals for short and long term recovery.
Sometimes the best patient care requires a team, and we are happy to work with primary care doctors, advanced practice providers, physical therapists, mental health providers, and other surgical or non-surgical specialists to achieve the best outcomes.
We want to ensure that women with pelvic health problems have access to expert, innovative and holistic care that’s right for them. Together we’ll develop the optimal treatment plan for each and every woman based on her particular condition and needs.
Meet Dr. Ryan Stewart
Our urogynecologists are specially trained in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery and focus on pelvic floor disorders such as pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence. Our founder, Dr. Ryan Stewart is a fellowship trained pelvic surgeon specializing in treatment of women with pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, and pelvic floor dysfunction.
He completed medical school at the Via College of Osteopathic Medicine and did a four year residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Indiana University School of Medicine. After residency, he continued his specialized training for another three years by completing a fellowship in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery (aka urogynecology) at the University of Louisville.
Dr. Stewart splits his work time equally between the office and the operating room. He is passionate about helping women with a wide array of pelvic floor and urogynecologic disorders including pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, fecal incontinence, pelvic pain, vaginal fistulas, recurrent urinary tract infections, and the genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM).
He is currently accepting new patients. You can schedule an appointment (at a physical location or virtually) today without a referral. Most insurance plans are accepted.
Dr. Stewart believes that our understanding of pelvic and gynecological health is ever evolving, and has contributed to extensive published research in the fields of urogynecology, both academic and clinical.
Conditions We Treat
In simple terms, POP is a hernia of the pelvic organs. It happens when the pelvic organs descend into the vaginal canal. It is not dangerous, but can cause feelings of pelvic pressure, fullness, sexual function, and problems with bladder and bowel movements.
Accidental leakage of urine can be an embarrassing and life-altering condition. Though common, it is not normal at any age and is not something you have to “live with.”
OAB is a group of symptoms in which patients experience frequent urination and a sudden urge to void that is difficult to suppress – in some cases it cannot be suppressed and urine loss occurs.
Accidental leakage of stool is more common than most people think, and most women who have it are too embarrassed to talk with their doctors about it. We can help.
including vaginal fistulas, recurrent urinary tract infections, genitourinary syndrome of menopause, sexual pain, pelvic pain, interstitial cystitis, and other pelvic floor disorders.
